国際比較研究 ( 20 ) 3 - 27 2024.03 [Refereed]
Research paper (journal) Domestic Co-author
The purpose of this paper is to clarify the current situation of the impact of coronavirus pandemic on local communities from a sociological analytical perspective, particularly through the local activities of the elderly (local salon activities/place to go).
In this study, it was considered important to accumulate research with regional differences in mind, and selected the Kamodani area of Anan City as a case study, targeting the peripheral area of a small regional city as opposed to a large metropolitan area.
The findings can be summarized into mainly three points. First, it was found from the field survey that the characteristics of the corona-stricken area differed from those of the urban area. Second, the coronavirus pandemic caused the elderly to suspend or change the content of their community activities, but more importantly, it functioned as a device which highlighted the reality of declining functions, whereby depopulation and aging process is unstoppable. Third, even with the impending reality of dismantling of the community, the coronavirus pandemic has provided an opportunity to reconsider the community's starting point of continuing local activities and sharing local issues. -

This research is a comprehensive area study of the fusion of social science and natural science related to lacquer culture and traditional local industry. Kawatsura lacquerware in the Inakawa district of Yuzawa
City has begun to be re-evaluated as a rare lacquerware producing area due to its small-scale but robust and highly practical characteristics and the use of domestically produced wood. In addition, as a regional feature, it maintains the cohesiveness of the production area. However, it is now almost impossible to collect locally produced lacquer. If lacquerware can be produced using locally produced lacquer in addition to the use of domestic wood, the possibility of re-evaluating the local culture and industry will increase.
In this paper, the purpose is to grasp the current situation of regional resources and clarify the issues by conducting research on human resources by analyzing village structure and social relations, and literary fusion research focusing on natural environmental resources such as urushi trees, topography, and soil.
As a result of comprehensive research on the fusion of culture and science, we have gained that in addition to the traditional characteristics and features of the Kawatsura lacquerware industrial area, we will re-evaluate the lacquer culture and industry with products using domestic wood and locally produced lacquer. In order to ensure it, it is first necessary to select the soil necessary for the good growth of the lacquer tree, and to manage the habitat of the existing adult tree sufficiently to increase the population, and such activities. It was found that it is necessary to revitalize the Kawatsura lacquerware industry, human resources who are conscious of revitalizing the Kawatsura lacquerware industry, social relations that can nurture the next generation, and the community by doing so.
Key Words: culture and industry of lacquer, the fusion of social science and natural science, Kawatsura lacquerware, Yuzawa city -

The population is aging globally, Japan is number one in the world as of 2010. The National Institute of Population and Social Security Research estimates that Japan will have an aging rate of about 40% in 2060. In Japan, which is an advanced aging country, Akita Prefecture stands out as having an especially high aging rate. It is called an aged advanced area. The Tohoku region used to contain a relatively large number of third-generation households. However, The Social life statistics index since 1990 makes it clear that the number of elderly single households is increasing in Akita Prefecture. This means that there is a wide range of changes in the family, and it must be considered as a rapid social change. In this paper, we consider issues concerning the relationship between the community, schools, and children, based on the current situation of local communities, families, and schools in Akita Prefecture, taking an example of the process of rehabilitation activities and maintenance of an aged small hamlet: " a marginal hamlet ".

It has been argued from various fields that the COVID-19 Pandemic will have a great impact on social relations in the community and will significantly change the lifestyle. Against the background of this new threat, it can be said that further issues are attached to the discussion about the future of the community.
This paper aims to clarify the impacts of the COVID-19 Pandemic infection on the local community through studies of community salon activities. In addition, we will discuss the basic requirements for discussing how a sustainable community can be established and rebuilt in with corona and in the future post-corona.
We will conduct a case study of Akita City, which is the region where the population is rapidly aging and declining most in Japan. -
Citizenship in the New Era: Toward Post Citizenship

Research paper (university bulletin, research institution) Single author
Citizenship studies have changed from the theory of national citizenship in the era when the framework of the state was given to that of post-national citizenship under globalization. After the arguments about post-national citizenship, we will discuss the possibility of "post citizenship" as a new way of citizenship that has emerged with the transformation of the local community in the global era, beyond the binary opposition of "national—post national".
In this case, we argue post-citizenship using the framework of four types: pre-citizenship, national citizenship, local citizenship, and post-national citizenship that classified by two horizons: "migration/cross border—settlement, community/publicity—common." -
