イラン国北東部のサンガン磁鉄鉱スカルン鉱床の鉄鉱化作用について流体包有物・安定同位体比のデータから検討した.鉱化作用をもたらした流体が,高塩濃度流体であったことからマグマ性起源であること,酸素・炭素同位体比のデータから,接触変成作用後の脱ガスのプロセスの後,周囲の石灰岩などを含む堆積岩類とマグマ性の流体が高温で反応し,鉄鉱物の沈殿が起こったことを示した.

世界で始めて発見されたパプアニューギニア国のデスモスカルデラの現世熱水鉱床の酸性熱水活動に伴う重金属鉱化作用と変質岩の特徴を全岩組成に加え,硫化鉱物,粘土鉱物にいて詳細に記載し,鉱化作用の温度等生成環境を推定した.さらに,中央海嶺の玄武岩溶岩にみられる海水起源の弱酸性熱水系の変質と鉱化作用と比較を行い,両者の地球化学的特徴をもとに大陸縁辺部での背弧海盆形成時に発生するマグマ-熱水系のモデル化を行なった.特に,鉱床下部のマグマから放出される火山ガスにより強酸性流体が形成されていることを明らかにした.

温川含金黒鉱鉱床の鉱石の産状,鉱物組み合わせ,鉱物の化学組成,流体包有物の化学組成(均質化温度,塩濃度,PIXE化学分析値),構成鉱物の酸素・水素同位体比のデータと熱力学的考察を組み合わせ,背弧海盆海底面下でのマグマ-熱水系の構造を総合的に検討し,温川鉱床の金の供給システムを推定した.
