Research paper (journal) Domestic Co-author

This study examined the results of an attitude survey in Akita City, Akita Prefecture, Japan, regarding the expansion of the range of activities of elderly people through discounted cab and bus transit. The results indicated that being able to reserve a cab on the same day and transferring between cabs and buses at facilities such as supermarkets influenced the intention to use a transfer plan between cabs and buses. It was also indicated that it is important to set lower fares and shorter transfer times between cabs and buses. Regarding the plan for a discount for transferring between cabs and buses, the results showed that the intention to use the plan was high among the elderly over 75 years old and among those who currently use only buses and trains. For example, 25.2% of the respondents would like to use a plan that offers a 30-minute transfer time and a cab fare of 300 yen to seniors aged 75 or older who currently use only buses and trains.

This study focused on the personality of the elderly. In this study, personality refers to psychological factors are thought to hinder the elderly from participating in various activities. It is shown that the personality of these elderly people consists of six factors: “weakness in the sense of being involved with others," “strength of resignation," “lack of spontaneous action," “ease of being influenced by others," “strength of the sense of not relying on others," and “strength of shyness". It is also found that the traffic mode, such as cars and buses, have an effect on the personality of the elderly. And that personality reduces the frequency of hobby activities and community activities. In addition, it is shown that different policies and facility services should be considered for the elderly who have different personalities, if the participation of the elderly in activities are intended to be promoted. Also, it is important for others to accept their personalities and health conditions.

In this research, we grasped the specific contents of the points with good feeling and the points that felt unpleasant about customer service of the route bus driver. It was revealed that while there were many drivers who provided good service, there were also drivers with bad attitudes. Among those who experienced bad service once, some wanted to reduce the use of buses. Even if many drivers continue to serve good customers, there may be a reduction in bus users due to bad service drivers. The comparison of customer service among cities shows that the frequency of service is better in the large cities, and the awareness of increased use when receiving good service is also high. On the other hand, the sense of diminishing use when receiving bad customer service was the same result in the large cities and the other cities.

  • DEMAND ASSESSMENT FOR "MONTHLY TAXI COMMUTER PASS" FOR ELDERLY PEOPLE IN LOCAL CITIES -WHEN TAKING AKITA CITY, AKITA PREFECTURE AS AN EXAMPLE-

SUZUKI Yu, HINO Satoru, MOTEGI Yuki

Journal of Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Ser. D3 (Infrastructure Planning and Management) ( Japan Society of Civil Engineers ) 76 ( 5 ) I_1023 - I_1033 2021

In this research, we examined the introduction of "monthly taxi commuter pass" that can be used monthly in Akita City, Akita Prefecture. The conditions for purchasing a commuter pass are set to the applicable range, time, waiting time, and purchase price. As a result, it was found that the purchase intention was related to the purchase price. If you sell a monthly taxi commuter pass for a usage range of 2 km, a usage time of 6 hours (10:00 to 16:00), a waiting time of 30 minutes, and a monthly charge of 20,000 yen, the estimated percentage of purchasers will be 25.8%. We also estimated the number of taxis required by introducing measures. It was shown that if the monthly taxi commuter pass under the above conditions is introduced in an area with a target population of 30,000, the current taxi can operate 10 times a day.

  • A STUDY ON THE EFFECT OF IMAGINATION AFTER RETURNING DRIVER'S LICENSE ON DRIVER'S LICENSE RETURN CONSCIOUSNESS

SUZUKI Yu, HINO Satoru, MAEDA Yuya

Journal of Japan Society of Civil Engineers, Ser. D3 (Infrastructure Planning and Management) ( Japan Society of Civil Engineers ) 76 ( 5 ) I_485 - I_494 2021

In this study, the driver's license return and the image of the holder of the driver's license were compared. As a result, it became clear that the driver's license holder had a bad impression. It turns out that everyday life after returning a driver's license isn't as bad as it was before returning it. From these, it is considered that once experiencing the life after returning the driver's license is effective in promoting the voluntary return of the driver's license. When we constructed a structural model of driver's license repayment awareness, we found that good and bad impressions affect driver's license repayment awareness. We believe that making a good impression on your life after returning your license will lead to the voluntary return of your driver's license.
