南東フランスVocontian堆積盆で採取された白亜紀海洋無酸素事変(OAE)1aの最盛期(C6)に相当するGoguel層準試料のバイオマーカー・パリノモルフ分析を行なった。その結果,2-methyl hopane(2-MHI)が検出され,球状かつ表面に粒上の構造があるsphaeromorphic acritarchsが多産した。2-MHIを生合成するシアノバクテリアやα-プロテオバクテリア,sphaeromorphic acritarchsを形成したと考えられるプラシノ藻は貧栄養水を好むことから,南東フランスで発生した無酸素化は生物の高生産というより,海洋循環の停滞が寄与していた可能性が高いことを新たに示した。
