1941年長野地震の被害に関する文献調査

<p>We were conducting literature surveys on damaging earthquakes after the Meiji era in the Northern Nagano Prefecture. In this paper, we focused on the 1941 Nagano Earthquake, affected at northeast of Nagano city and its vicinities with magnitude 6.1. The details of the damage were clarified through investigation the reports and newspaper articles from that time. It was pointed out that most of the damage occurred in lowland areas along the Chikuma River. Areas along this river are prone to flooding and including recent one in 2019. The relationship between them was also discussed.</p>

<p>The authors are conducting a literature survey on damaging earthquakes that occurred in Akita Prefecture since the Meiji era using local newspapers and administrative materials. We are currently investigating for local damaging earthquakes, as well as major ones. This report focuses on the 1999 earthquake off Kisakata, Akita Prefecture. This earthquake occurred near the coast of the border between Akita and Yamagata prefectures and was far away from the both capitals and people’s interest has faded. The damage is rearranged on the 25th anniversary, and the full extent of the damage across both prefectures is clarified.</p>

<p>The authors are continuing literature surveys on damaging earthquakes affected to the Kinki district and in the previous paper, the 1899 Kii-Yamato earthquake was picked up. This earthquake had rather deep focal depth and moderate damage in wider areas of Kinki district was pointed out. In this paper, the same type 1952 Yoshino earthquake was focused. Detailed damage was elucidated from the reports and newspaper articles at that time. These data were sorted by municipalities in table and mapped. Building damage were limited but many human casualties were found in wide area and their causes were also discussed.</p>

<p>Literature survey on damage due to the 1964 off Oga Peninsular earthquake was performed with reconnaissance reports and newspaper articles at that time. This earthquake caused damage to the surrounding area of Oga Peninsular and severe damage was concentrated in the area of newly reclaimed land of Hachiro-gata Lake. Newspaper articles on this earthquake deceased quickly within 2 weeks. However, 40 days later much bigger event of the 1964 Niigata earthquake hit same area and the Oga Peninsular earthquake was recalled and reported. Relations between two sequential events were also discussed.</p>

<p>The 1896 Rikuu earthquake was the biggest inland event occurred in Tohoku district and caused extensive building damage to Akita and Iwate prefectures. The authors have been done literature surveys on this earthquake and reported in the preceding papers clarifying distributions of building damage, cause of human casualties, local governmental responses and so on. In this paper, we focus to individual building damage and effects of regional features on building construction are discussed through the reconnaissance reports and related papers. Typical examples are also cited from photos and illustrations appeared on those documents and discussed.</p>

<p>Literature survey on damage due to the 1899 Kii-Yamato earthquake was carried out continuing to the previous paper of the 1936 Kawachi-Yamato event. This earthquake had rather deep focal depth as 50km and caused moderate damage in wide areas of Kinki district. Detailed damage was picked up from the reports and newspaper articles at that time. These data were sorted by municipalities in table and mapped. Heavy building damage was limited in focal area but damage to brick masonry factory buildings including chimneys is dominated in Osaka. In mountainous areas landslides and rockfalls occurred and caused casualties. </p>

<p>The 2011 North Nagano earthquake of M=6.7 occurred at the boundary of Nagano and Niigata prefectures in the next day following to the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku. In the previous paper, literature survey on damage related to snow for this earthquake was performed referring the local Nagano prefectural newspaper articles. Continuing to this, the same survey was done with the documents of Niigata side. The snow effects to this earthquake are listed in time series from the beginning of disasters to their recovering processes. Lessons learned from this event are also discussed.</p>

<p>In the previous paper, we carried out literature survey on damage in Osaka plain due to the 1927 Kita-Tango earthquake and clarified that severe damage and casualty were reported in spite of its long epicentral distance of more than 100km. Nine years after, this area was hit by the 1936 Kawachi-Yamato earthquake occurred at the border area of Osaka and Nara prefectures. In this paper literature survey on this earthquake was carried out. Earthquake damage including revealed building damage and casualties is described based on the published documents.</p>

<p>The 1964 Niigata earthquake is one of the biggest one occurred in the Japan Sea and caused various damage to the wide area. In the previous paper, the authors reexamined damage at Akita prefecture using local newspaper articles and appearance of various damage in spite of longer epicentral distance of more than 100 km was pointed out. In this paper, damage in the whole affected areas excepting the Niigata prefectures is discussed with reports and newspaper articles at that time. Detailed damage by local municipality is listed in a table and its spatial distribution is discussed.</p>

<p>Literature survey on damage in Osaka Plain due to the 1927 Kita-Tango earthquake is carried out. This earthquake was M=7.3 inland event and caused severe damage in the epicentral region of Tango peninsular, Kyoto prefecture. In Osaka plain this earthquake caused damage including casualties in spite of its long epicentral distance of more than 100km. However, many concerns have been concentrated to the damage along to the appeared surface faults and that in Osaka Plain has been forgotten for long time. In this paper, damage in Osaka Plain is discussed based on gathered reports and newspaper articles at that time.</p>

<p>Akita Prefecture, northern Japan, have more than ten large damaging earthquakes during the recent 120 years and the authors made literature surveys on major events. In this paper, the 1970 Southeastern Akita earthquake (M=6.2) was investigated. This local earthquake occurred at the boundary between Iwate prefecture and caused 6 injuries and damages to houses and infrastructures were reported. Through the literature surveys on reconnaissance reports and newspapers in both prefectures, detailed damages were clarified. We believe that the experience of this event can be utilized to future disaster prevention for not only this area but also the other areas.</p>

<p>The 2011 North Nagano earthquake of M=6.7 occurred in the next day following to the 2011 earthquake off the Pacific coast of Tōhoku. This earthquake attacked snowy countries between Nagano and Niigata prefectures and caused many damage related to the snow. However, these disasters were not reported so much because most concerns are concentrated to the bigger Tohoku event at that time. In this paper, authors carried out literature surveys on damage related to snow. Local newspaper of Shinano-Mainichi was surveyed and related to snow articles were listed in time series and discussed.</p>
