Technological development of energy storage devices is now ongoing worldwide for mitigating carbon dioxide emissions to combat global warming. Several industrially promising sectors such as automobiles, renewable energies, power quality management, and mobile gadgets require high-performance and low-cost energy storage devices. Electrochemical capacitors have been accepted as the key elements for realizing charge–discharge cycling with high power density, high efficiency, and long life. Electric double-layer capacitors, pseudocapacitors, and hybrid capacitors, which can be called supercapacitors, are typical modern electrochemical capacitors intended for energy storage.........
