本稿は,文部科学省が行っている[小学校英語教科化に向けた専門性向上のための講習の開発・実施事業]に関して,平成29年度に秋田大学が同省からの指定を受けて実施した,⑴小学校の現職教員が中学校教諭免許状(外国語(英語))を取得するための免許法認定講習等の開発・実施,⑵小学校現職教員が次期学習指導要領に即した新たな指導方法等を加えた専科指導に対応できるプログラムの開発及び講習の実施,の2 つの事業のうち,英語に関する講習における取り組みやそのねらい,成果や今後に向けた課題について,2 年目の平成29年度に講習を担当した教員の報告をまとめたものである.In this paper we present an interim report on the development of English language teaching program for elementary school teachers, which started in fiscal 2016 and continues into fiscal 2018. The program has two aims: ⑴ to equip elementary school teachers with the license of teaching English as a compulsory subject at junior high schools; and ⑵ to help them to prepare for teaching English as a subject to elementary school students under the recently-revised course of study, which was announced at the end of fiscal 2016. After giving a brief explanation of the program, we describe the objectives we set in our courses and how we implemented them. Finally, the results of our teaching are presented and future issues are discussed for the final year of the program.

外国語教育の中で異文化に対する積極的な態度をどのように養成するかというテーマで書かれた著書であり、担当の第5章は秋田での調査結果の報告である。被験者は秋田県内の生徒636名、英語教師47名であった。英語教育および英語学習の方法や内容、学習期間の長さ、海外経験の有無、居住地域、性別と、異文化に対する態度との間の関係について調査した。地域社会での目標言語話者との交流や小学校からの外国語教育の重要性を指摘している。論文掲載ページ(pp.75~151)、共同研究により抽出不可能。 David Ingram, Minoru Kono, Shirley O’Neill, Masako Sasaki
